Backpackers and walkers wishing to blend into a simple, authentic, and comfortable setting, attracted by the beautiful alpine Mercantour mountains and dulcet Mediterranean tones, need look no further.

Thanks to Robert’s lovingly and tastefully rebuilt ‘stone by stone year after year’ hamlet of the La coquille, you will find at our refuge the serenity and welcome you have always dreamt of.

THE SHARED SPACE: a large living area with ochre colored limed walls, warmed by a log fire, a place for tasting local cuisine or to relax in an armchair, to play cards or board games around a table or to indulge in musical expression or movement.

BEDROOMS: upstairs there are rooms for two to three people in pastel tones with inset views of exceptional this setting and each rom with its own bathroom. In the attic the young can enjoy the quiet and comfortable small dormitory in a toned down atmosphere.

RELAXING: On the south side there is a wonderful sun terrace offering a splendid panorama of the valley and the ‘Aiguilles de Pélens (Pélens needles), an ideal spot for reading, breakfasting or observing the star-filled night sky…In the summer season a spacious green shaded lawn protected by high hand-cut stone walls, a special characteristic of the «quartier», also houses the wood fire oven in which Robert makes homemade bread for the family and guests.
